The restaurants near me search is the whole game
Most owners think they are competing on the work. For a stranger with a phone, you are competing on what shows up before the work is ever seen.
Here are the five things that decide who gets the call — in order of how much they cost you.
- The decision happens before the menu
Nobody is comparing your food to theirs. They are comparing a map pin with twenty recent reviews to a map pin with four old ones.
- Old reviews read as closed
Hospitality moves fast. A profile whose newest review is from last spring tells a stranger the room might be empty for a reason.
- Your regulars would say it if asked
They love the place. They have never once been asked for a review at the moment they were happiest, which is right after the plate.
- An unanswered complaint is the loudest thing on your profile
One slow Saturday night, written up by one person, sitting there with no reply, speaks for your whole kitchen.
- Wrong hours cost you the table
A holiday hour that was never updated sends a hungry party somewhere else and you never hear about it.
What I actually do about it
I get the Google Business Profile right — hours, services, service area, photos, the things that answer a stranger's questions before they call. I make the review ask automatic, so it happens at the moment the customer is happiest instead of whenever somebody remembers. I answer every review in your voice, calmly, including the bad ones. And I track where you show up for the searches that matter in your towns, so you can see it move.
What I will never do: write or script a customer's review, buy reviews, swap reviews, or promise you a position on Google. Nobody can promise that, and anybody who does is lying to you.
The offer
Month to month. No annual contract. If you do not see your standing improve in the first 30 days, you get every dollar back and we part as friends.
The restaurant down the street is not better than you. They are easier to find.
That is a fixable problem, and it is the only one I work on.If you want to see what a stranger sees when they search restaurants near you tonight
Tell me the business name and the town. I will look at what a stranger sees and tell you straight where you sit — the good and the bad.
